National Account Manager - Grocery & Processor - East (Education)

The National Account Manager is responsible for growing sales profitably, targeting large‑scale regional and national chains within the assigned Eastern US territory. The NAM will develop, implement, and evaluate the sales strategy, working with key customers and collaborating cross‑functionally within the organization.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading sales activities for guarding and growing current business within the assigned account base.
- Executing cross‑selling opportunities within existing accounts and targeting opportunities with new customers.
- Maintaining an excellent communication framework across the various organizational functions and sharing best practices among team members to maximize volume, mix, revenue, and profit.
The ideal candidate will reside on the East Coast to meet travel requirements. Major metro areas for travel include Boston, Philadelphia, New York, Mid‑Atlantic (DC, VA, MD), and into North and South Carolina. 40–50% travel is required, mostly via air.
How You Will Make An ImpactAchieve sales, gross profit, and margin objectives through current and new customer relationships targeting grocery, processor and C‑Store large‑scale account customers. Establish sales objectives by creating account management plans for target customers in support of corporate objectives. Manage and protect the current existing business within the assigned account base. Develop sales plan including account level targets, securing base business, net new business and identify growth opportunities in current and new accounts.
Support customers by recommending product lines, identifying new product opportunities, and/or packaging and service changes; surveying consumer needs and trends; tracking competitors. Address customer service issues with urgency, providing solutions, guidance and identifying process improvements. Maintain up to date customer data in CRM, track and report calls and visits, quote pipeline open items and other products, customer service and account management details.
Develop, review, and collaborate with Sr. Director of Grocery & Processors and Supply Chain on all associated Account forecasts, and budgets. Stay well‑connected with customers to ensure broad market needs are incorporated into the product development and enhancement cycle. Regular travel (~40–50% monthly) via car, plane, etc., throughout the U.S. is required; manage travel administrative and team budget/expenses.
