Position Summary

Bentley Systems is seeking a Manager, Software Development to lead a team of talented developers building Administrative Portals that power global-scale systems for User Management, Entitlement Management, Software Downloads, and Reporting. This role is pivotal in driving innovation, ensuring service reliability, and delivering best-in-class solutions in partnership with Product Management and UX teams. You will own end-to-end product delivery—including service uptime (SLA)—and make data-driven decisions based on telemetry and usage insights.

The ideal candidate champions agile practices and cloud-native development, while fostering an empowered, high-performing team culture.

Tech Stack: .NET (C#), React, Azure

Team Size: 8 developers (with potential expansion)

Reporting:
Directly to the Senior Director, Digital Experience Engineering

Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of software developers, fostering growth and technical excellence.
  • Drive agile delivery practices, ensuring timely and high-quality releases.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and UX teams to define priorities and deliver exceptional user experiences.
  • Own end-to-end product delivery, including service reliability and uptime (SLA).
  • Make data-driven decisions using telemetry and usage insights to improve performance and user satisfaction.
  • Provide technical guidance on architecture, design, and best practices for cloud-native development.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor team performance and support career development plans.
  • Occasionally travel to meet with remote team members for team engagement and collaboration.
  • Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (physical requirements)
Qualifications
  • Proven experience managing software development teams in an agile environment.
  • Strong background in web application development using .NET (C#), React, and Azure.
  • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills with a focus on people development.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of cloud-native architectures and modern development practices.
  • Experience working on enterprise-scale or global systems is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
