CompensationBase: $64,500;
Tested Subject: $2,000;
Experience:
$200 per year;
Advanced Degree‑Masters: $3,000;

Under the general supervision of the School Director, develop students’ physical skills and abilities, strength, agility, poise, coordination, and teamwork; foster an understanding of the importance of exercise to physical and mental well‑being; motivate students to pursue physical fitness, hygiene, and good health.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required.
- New Jersey Standard Teaching Certification (CE, CEAS) with subject matter specialization:
Health & Physical Education. - Motor Vehicle Operator’s License or ability to provide own transportation.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, using proper grammar and vocabulary.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
- Ability to engage in self‑evaluation for professional growth.
- Knowledge of current teaching methods, education pedagogy, and differentiated instruction based on student learning styles.
- Knowledge of grade‑specific curriculum and concepts for all subjects taught.
- Understanding of confidentiality requirements related to charter school matters.
- Ability to establish cooperative relationships with parents, students, faculty, and other collaborators.
- Prior to employment, the following must be addressed: completion of a criminal history background check; evidence of health adequate to perform job functions with accommodation per 42 U.S.C. §12101 and N.J.A.C. 6A:32‑6.2; passing the state required Mantoux Intradermal Tuberculin Test.
- Alternative qualifications acceptable to the CEO may be applied.
- Requires prolonged sitting or standing.
- Occasional physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push objects.
- Ability to work in noisy and crowded environments.
- Occasional stooping, bending, or reaching.
- Some traveling.
- Occasional outdoor work during school activities.
- Develop and administer Physical Education classes aligned with district goals.
- Teach physical fitness, rhythm and dance, coordination, agility, exercise, and sports.
- Develop students’ leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and social skills; provide a safe learning environment and appropriate feedback.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student growth and modify instruction to fit individual needs, including special needs students.
- Continuously acquire professional knowledge through seminars, workshops, or research.
- Maintain accurate record‑keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievements, and attendance per district procedures and laws.
- Assist in coordinating extracurricular activities, assemblies, and athletic events.
- Encourage parental involvement and maintain effective communication with students and parents.
- Ensure student conduct meets school and district standards and establish proper behavior norms for a functional learning atmosphere.
- Coordinate with other staff, especially within physical education and grade level, and participate in faculty meetings and committees.
- Select, requisition, and inventory appropriate instructional aids and equipment.
- Inspect equipment and field areas to ensure safety and proper function.
Perform any other duties within the scope of employment and certification that may be assigned.
ExperienceSuccessful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level is preferred.
EquipmentStandard office equipment including personal computers, printers, copy and fax machines, and telephone.
Travel RequirementsTravel to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
Physical and Mental DemandsWorks in standard office and school building environments.
EvaluationPerformance evaluated in accordance with New Jersey state law (Title 18A) and the iLearn Schools Inc. board policies and procedures.
Reports toSchool Director, Chief Academic Officer;
Supervise Instructional Coaches and Instructional Staff.
Ten‑month employee.
