Position Title: Physical Education Teacher (Elementary)
Compensation: Base $64,500, Tested Subject $2,000, Experience $200 per year, Advanced Degree‑Masters $3,000;

Under the general supervision of the School Director, to develop students' physical skills and abilities, strength, agility, poise, coordination, and teamwork; to develop students' understanding of the importance of exercise to physical and mental well‑being; and to motivate students to work towards physical fitness, hygiene, and good health.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.
- New Jersey Standard Teaching Certification (CE, CEAS) with subject matter specialization:
Health & Physical Education - Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
- Ability to engage in self‑evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
- Knowledge of grade‑specific school curriculum and concepts, including all subject matters taught.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations regarding education and students, as well as relating to health education.
- Understand the requirement to maintain confidentiality concerning charter school related matters.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work; parents, students and faculty etc.
- Required to complete a criminal history background check to prove that the individual has not been convicted of a crime or a disorderly person's offense in accordance with N.J.S.A 18A:6-7.1.
- Provide evidence that health is adequate to fulfill the job functions and responsibilities with reasonable accommodation pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 12101 and in accordance with N.J.A.C. 6A:32‑6.2.
- Pass the state required Mantoux Intradermal Tuberculin Test as required by N.J.A.C. 6A:32‑6.3.

- Teaches knowledge of, and develops skills and abilities in, physical fitness, rhythm and dance, coordination and agility, exercise, and sports,
- Develops students' concepts in leadership, teamwork, responsibility and social skills; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and appropriate feedback regarding student progress, expectations, and goals.
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student growth and progress in physical educational activities, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs.
