Candidate Pay Rate:  $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver patient-centered therapeutic treatments that help restore mobility and independence

Assist the licensed Physical Therapist with exercise programs, gait training, and functional activities

Document patient progress and update care plans accurately in the medical record

Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and caregivers to coordinate high-quality rehabilitation

Educate patients and families on home programs, safety, and adaptive strategies

Ensure safe use and maintenance of therapy equipment and assistive devices

Contribute to discharge planning and smooth transitions of care

Qualifications

Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in New Jersey, or eligible for NJ licensure

Graduate of an accredited PTA program (Associate degree typical)

Current BLS/CPR certification (or willing to obtain prior to start)

Hands-on experience in physical therapy, patient care, and rehabilitation (experience with adult rehab preferred)

Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Ability to work weekend coverage and a schedule that includes all days of the week

Education

Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Completion of state-required PTA licensure/registration

Knowledge & Skills

Patient assessment fundamentals and safe transfer/gait assistance

Therapeutic exercise prescription and progression

Familiarity with common rehab modalities and assistive devices

Clinical documentation and electronic medical record (EMR) proficiency

Effective patient and family education techniques

Strong teamwork, time management, and clinical problem-solving
