Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Intern will support the Accounting Department with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, general ledger, filing, and reconciliations tasks.

Eligibility & Duration

Open to Doyon shareholders only. This internship runs from May to August.

Responsibilities
  • Enter journal entries and data into the accounting systems.
  • Assist with account maintenance, filing, and incoming mail.
  • Support expense report processing.
  • Assist accountants with transactional and month‑end close activities.
  • Perform account reconciliations.
  • Support special accounting projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be a Doyon shareholder.
  • Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Experience using Excel.
  • Ability to perform accurate and timely work in an organized and efficient manner.
Skills the Intern Will Obtain
  • Experience applying basic accounting concepts, entering journal entries and transactions, using financial systems for data entry and reporting, supporting AP/AR and expense processes, maintaining organized files, and assisting with month‑end close activities.
Working Environment

The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities and abilities.

Physical Demands
