Position: Summer Office Aide (Chena Lake)
Overview
Provide a variety of clerical and administrative support to the park offices at Chena Lake Recreation Area.
Salary and Employment
Salary: 3A
Reports To: Park Manager
Positions Supervised: None
Retention Bonus Notice
Employees who work through the end of the season will be given a bonus of up to $250 and will receive another bonus of up to $250 upon receiving a satisfactory performance review for the season. This bonus will paid in the final paycheck.
Employment Duration
May 11, 2026 through September 13, 2026.
Responsibilities
Assist with answering phones, relaying messages, disseminating information to staff, and providing information to the general public.Assist with coordinating facility reservations, processing payments, and maintaining calendars for reservations.Assist with maintaining Attendance and Revenue spreadsheets for the division.Create various signs and documents for dissemination to patrons and park staff using desktop publishing software.Transport documents and interoffice mail between park office and other agencies.Assist with other file maintenance, such as Administrator’s or other division files.Assist with the processing of division purchase requisitions, invoices for payment, travel authorizations, etc.Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of progressively responsible office experience as a receptionist/administrative assistant with knowledge of office practices and procedures. Demonstrated knowledge of basic bookkeeping principles preferred.Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and office machines, such as fax and copy machines. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required;
Desktop Publishing preferred.Must have and be able to maintain a valid driver’s license. Must meet insurance standards and maintain insurability under the Borough's insurance program. If personal automobile is used for Borough business, proof of automobile insurance at statutory limits must be provided. (A CURRENT COPY OF DRIVING RECORD WILL BE REQUIRED UPON REQUEST)Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must be capable of functioning with minimal direction and perform work in an organized and professional manner under stressful situations and the pressures of short deadlines.Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in written form. Ability to deal effectively and harmoniously with the public and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and members of boards and commissions.Demonstrated ability to comprehend and carry out oral and written instructions, to apply established policies and procedures to varied situations, and to perform work in a timely, orderly, and independent manner.Other Requirements
A PROFICIENCY TEST MAY BE ADMINISTERED.This position requires a criminal and credit history background check.Job Contacts
