Position: Records and Assignments Coordinator, Residence Life

Overview

The Residence Life Operations Coordinator supports the daily operations of UAF housing programs and serves as a primary point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and families regarding housing services. This position advises residents on housing options, eligibility requirements, and occupancy agreements while managing housing assignments and occupancy records to maximize the effective use of residential spaces and support student success.

The coordinator assists residents with housing applications, room assignments, hall access, check-ins and check-outs, and housing-related inquiries. The position responds to concerns in a timely and professional manner, communicates housing policies and deadlines, supports residence hall opening and room selection processes, and helps ensure residents are connected with appropriate residential services and resources.

To thrive in this role, you will have strong customer service and communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Success in this position requires professionalism, sound judgment, and a commitment to providing outstanding service to students, faculty, staff, and families. Experience working with databases or recordkeeping systems and maintaining accurate records will be valuable.

The ability to build positive relationships, communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, and contribute to a collaborative team environment is essential.

Minimum of two years of administrative experience, including customer service responsibilities. Experience working in housing, residence life, property management, higher education, or a related field is preferred. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted where appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications:

Two years of college coursework in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Position Details

This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and a full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
