Job Overview
Support research, departmental projects, or office operations at the International Arctic Research Center (IARC) at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
IARC creates a temporary applicant pool for the academic year. Multiple departments may draw from this pool to fill a variety of roles. These opportunities offer hands‑on experience in a dynamic research environment, with responsibilities that vary based on departmental needs. Applications are reviewed on an as‑needed basis as positions become available.
Responsibilities- Assist research faculty and staff with tasks that contribute to ongoing projects and departmental initiatives.
- Perform administrative, clerical, technical, or professional support functions as required by the department.
- Prioritize work, exercise sound judgment, and work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent (all temporary positions require this minimum).
- Relevant administrative, clerical, technical, or professional experience.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Adaptable, organized, proactive, and able to work independently.
Location:
University of Alaska Fairbanks campus (Troth Yeddha’). Work arrangements may include on‑site or hybrid following UA regulations. Position may be part‑time or full‑time, non‑exempt (hourly), and term‑funded. Compensation aligns with the UA Temporary Compensation Schedule.
This is a pooled position that remains open throughout the academic year. It will close on June 30, 2027 at 11:55 PM Alaskan Standard Time.
