Office Administrator/ Coordinator
The Alaska Center for Energy and Power (ACEP) fosters innovative solutions to Alaska's energy challenges and is a gateway for energy‑related activity at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. ACEP is recruiting for an Executive Coordinator to support the leadership team. This position will be located on the UAF Troth Yeddha’ campus and the successful candidate is expected to work on site as part of a dynamic and supportive team.
Responsibilities- Be highly organized and able to manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Take pride in creating a welcoming, professional, and highly responsive environment that enables leadership, researchers, and visitors to be successful.
- Be an exceptional communicator with the ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of the university and with external partners.
- Exercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism when handling confidential information.
- Take initiative and work independently, anticipating needs, solving problems proactively, and following projects through to completion with minimal direction.
- Enjoy coordinating complex schedules, meetings, events, and special projects while ensuring deadlines are met and details are executed seamlessly.
- Enjoy a collaborative research environment where priorities shift quickly and flexibility, adaptability, and a customer‑service mindset are essential.
- Be comfortable using technology to support business operations, including scheduling systems, virtual meeting platforms, Microsoft Office applications, and internal business systems.
Three years of college coursework and three years progressively responsible experience related to the program specialty, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Position DetailsThis is a term‑funded position reviewed annually for contract renewal at the University's discretion.
This is a full‑time, non‑exempt staff position complete with a competitive salary and a full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79, based on education and experience.
