The Department of Family and Community Services, Office of Children's Services is recruiting for full-time Office Assistant 1 located in Fairbanks, Alaska.
As an Office Assistant 1, this position is responsible for greeting visitors and taking calls to the Fairbanks Regional Office and routing them appropriately. You will be providing clerical support to the administrative unit who perform a wide variety of tasks and work together to support a large team of social workers in multiple regions throughout the state. Your duties will include receiving and routing calls and visitors, data entry, logging, filing, and other clerical duties as needed.

Working environment you can expect
This position is located in the Fairbanks office working as part of the clerical support unit, an integral part of our efficient administrative team.

We are seeking a candidate with the following competencies:
Knowledge of filing, typing, entering data, maintaining records, and using and completing forms.
Skills:
Uses computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work.
Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside State government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services;
is committed to providing quality products and services.

- All positions require valid successful completion of a background investigation, including fingerprinting and a criminal records check.
- The successful candidate may be required to attend multiple training courses normally located in Anchorage.
