College Of Indigenous Studies Temporary Professional Job Posting

This temporary professional job posting is unique as multiple campuses within the College of Indigenous Studies may be hiring from this pool of applicants. The posting is designed to aid in filling an unexpected vacancy or an urgent need on a part-time or full-time, temporary basis.

This position requires a versatile skill set including knowledge of office practices and procedures, strong writing abilities for correspondence and reports, and exceptional customer service skills. The role demands independence, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines effectively. Experience in public-facing roles is preferred, along with proficiency in operating multi-line phone systems, knowledge of purchasing procedures, and the ability to coordinate travel and manage inventory.

Problem-solving and decision-making skills are crucial, as is clear and effective communication both verbally and in writing. Proficiency in MS Office products, computer scheduling programs, and internet-based document management is essential for maintaining operational efficiency.

To thrive in the role of a temporary professional, experience working effectively with the public is crucial. This includes the ability to communicate clearly and courteously, handle inquiries and requests professionally, and maintain a positive interaction environment. Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to adapt to various customer needs and preferences are essential for delivering exceptional service and representing the organization positively during the temporary assignment.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Valid Alaska Driver's License and clean driving record in compliance with UA safe driving criteria may be required. 1 year to 3 years office/administrative experience or equivalent

Position Details:

This is a part-time, temporary staff position. This is a pooled position, and applications are reviewed as needed. Submission of an application does not guarantee review or a job offer.

This position varies in salary based on the position and duties hired for, Temp salary scale Grade 77 to Grade 79. Please note our rural campuses have a geographic differential that will be incorporated into the final salary amount.
