Customer Accounts Specialist
Location:
Fairbanks, AK
Pay: $23.00/hour
Schedule:
Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Put your customer service, cash handling, and administrative skills to work in a role supporting member accounts, payment processing, and accurate financial recordkeeping. This position offers the opportunity to provide outstanding service while helping ensure daily financial transactions and account information are processed accurately and efficiently.
We're looking for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys helping members, managing multiple priorities, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and committed to providing courteous, professional service in a busy office environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist members with account inquiries by phone, email, and in person
- Process member payments and maintain accurate account records
- Research and resolve account questions and payment discrepancies
- Process refunds, electronic payments, and other financial transactions
- Prepare deposits and support daily cash balancing activities
- Maintain electronic records and provide general administrative support
- Assist with specialized account processing and related financial administrative duties
- Provide telephone support during power outages as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Two years of customer service experience in a service-related environment
- Two years of cash handling experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to obtain a State of Alaska Notary commission
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
- Background screening is part of the hiring process for this position
- Support a drug free work environment
- Associate degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field
- Experience working in a utility, credit, collections, banking, accounting, or legal environment preferred
- Experience using word processing and spreadsheet software
