Position: Executive Assistant to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Administrative Specialist 3 (Grade 79):
    Three years college coursework and three years progressively responsible experience related to the program specialty, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Administrative Specialist 4 (Grade 80):
    Bachelor’s degree and four years progressively responsible experience relevant to the program specialty, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

This position is ideal for a highly organized, proactive professional with exceptional judgment, communication, and relationship-building skills. Successful candidates will have experience supporting senior executives, coordinating complex projects and priorities, managing confidential information, and working effectively with diverse stakeholders. The role requires strong written and verbal communication abilities, advanced organizational and time-management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to independently prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates should also possess demonstrated experience in executive support, project coordination, meeting and event management, research and analysis, and preparing professional communications, reports, and presentations. A commitment to professionalism, discretion, customer service, and continuous process improvement is essential.

This position is a range recruitment at the Administrative Specialist 3 level (Grade 79) or Administrative Specialist 4 level (Grade 80). Placement and salary will be based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

At the Administrative Specialist 3 level, this position provides advanced administrative and executive support to the Chief Human Resources Officer and serves as a primary coordinator for activities within the CHRO's office. The incumbent exercises discretion in handling confidential information, coordinating communications, managing schedules, and supporting projects and initiatives. The position works closely with university leadership, HR staff, governance groups, and external stakeholders to facilitate effective administrative operations and communication.
At the Administrative Specialist 4 level, this position operates with a high degree of independence and discretion and serves as the principal administrative and executive support role for the Chief Human Resources Officer. The incumbent regularly interacts with executive leadership, chancellors, HR leaders, governance groups, legal counsel, faculty, staff, and external partners. Decisions and actions taken by this position directly affect the effectiveness, responsiveness, and professional operation of the Office of the Chief Human Resources Officer and the successful execution of strategic human resources initiatives across the university system.

This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79 or 80, based on education and experience.
