General Laborer Location - Remote

  • Work closely and support a variety of skilled trades and construction activities.
  • Follow directives from Project Superintendent and remain productive.
  • Load, offload, move and organize supplies, materials, tools and small equipment at company yards and job sites.
  • Perform trade for long hours, day after day, often in adverse conditions, to complete the project at hand.
  • Responsible for reporting any incident, situation or activity that may affect Company’s ability to operate safely, ethically, and profitably to the Superintendent.
  • Duty to conduct oneself in the best interest of the company while on the job representing CEI.
  • Maintain any required certifications mandatory by law or company policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Willing to travel.
Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications
  • One
    - Year experience in the construction field preferred.
  • Prior experience in Alaska’s rural construction industry is preferred.
  • All around knowledge of materials, terms, and practices in construction field.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, take directions from supervisor(s) and other crew members.
  • Ability to actively listen and follow instructions.
  • Ability to work productively under pressure.
  • Strong self-motivation and work ethic; ability to work with or without direct supervision.
  • Ability to report to work consistently on time and work a flexible schedule, up to 12 hours per day 7 days per week.
  • Must pass Fit for Duty physical.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in construction is preferred.
  • Physical stamina, ability to lift heavy objects, follow instructions, operate tools, and maintain safety standards.
  • Punctuality, reliability, and willingness to work in various weather conditions.

  • This position not have supervisory responsibilities.
DOT Covered/Safety-Sensitive Role Requirements
  • This position does perform DOT "safety-sensitive" functions (as defined under 49 CFR Part 40) and is subject to all federal requirements related to Department of Transportation requirements for those performing, or on-call to perform, "safety-sensitive" functions. Employees must provide a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC).
