Construction Operations Manager – Commercial Plumbing & Mechanical

Beckley Mechanical is hiring a Construction Operations Manager to lead the execution of our commercial plumbing and mechanical projects in Alaska.

This is not a traditional Project Manager role.

We are looking for an experienced construction leader who can take ownership of project execution across the company—developing Project Managers and Superintendents, improving planning and accountability, managing project financial performance, and helping our teams consistently deliver successful projects.

The right person will work closely with company leadership and Preconstruction to strengthen the way projects move from estimate and turnover through construction and closeout.

• Leadership and accountability across multiple commercial construction projects
• Development and coaching of Project Managers, Superintendents, and field leaders
• Project budgets, job-cost performance, labor productivity, forecasting, and profitability
• WIP review and early identification of project risks
• Project schedules, manpower planning, material coordination, and field execution
• Strong handoffs between Preconstruction and Construction
• Change-order identification, documentation, pricing, and follow-through
• Resolution of difficult project, customer, contractual, and operational issues
• Continuous improvement of construction processes, planning, and communication

We re looking for someone with significant commercial construction experience who understands both the financial side of projects and the realities of field execution

Strong candidates will have experience with:

• Commercial construction project management
• Job costing, labor budgets, forecasting, scheduling, and change management
• Leading Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and project teams
• Managing multiple projects and priorities
• Construction contracts, drawings, specifications, and project documentation

Experience in commercial plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, or MEP construction is strongly preferred.

Experience with Alaska construction, government or military projects, Procore, Lean construction, or prefabrication is also valuable.
