Temporary Faculty (Non-Credit) Pool - Institute of Arctic Biology
UAF Institute of Arctic Biology is looking for adjunct faculty (non-credit) instructors. Adjunct positions are on a semester-by-semester contract basis. The incumbent will conduct research on one or more funded projects under the guidance of or in conjunction with the host scientist and may act as a PI or CO‑PI on funded grants. Relevant experience is required to contribute significantly to the host scientist’s project, including proficiency with computers and other research tools and equipment.
The Institute of Arctic Biology was founded in 1963 with a mission to advance basic and applied knowledge of high‑latitude biological systems through research, student education, and service to Alaska. IAB supports faculty, post‑doctoral research, and graduate education in wildlife physiology, genetics, evolutionary biology, ecology, biomedicine, and bioinformatics & computational biology. Core facilities include geographic information systems and DNA sequencing laboratories, and the Institute’s Toolik Field Station is a world‑renowned Arctic climate change research station.
Minimum Qualifications- PhD in a relevant discipline with varied levels of training and experience.
- Experience commensurate with graduate‑level or senior‑scientist status.
Salary:
This is a part‑time, adjunct, non‑represented temporary position. Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and the type of work assigned.
