As the Assistant Men's Basketball Coach, you will serve in a dynamic, multifaceted role supporting all aspects of the men's basketball program at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. You will work closely with the Sport Performance Team to monitor student-athlete health and wellness, ensure safe participation, and maintain effective communication with the Head Coach regarding athlete status and team needs.

You will oversee student-athlete travel and conduct while fostering academic achievement, community engagement, and professional representation of the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

Your responsibilities will include managing key administrative functions such as supervising student managers, coordinating team travel logistics, maintaining practice and competition schedules, and assisting with program operations. You will support student-athletes' academic progress toward degree completion by collaborating with academic advisors and relevant campus partners, including the international student office when applicable.

In recruiting, you will play an active role in identifying, evaluating, and retaining high-caliber student-athletes, contributing to the development of a competitive and diverse roster. On the court, you will assist with all coaching responsibilities, including player development, practice planning, scouting, game preparation, strategy implementation, video analysis, and performance evaluation. Throughout all aspects of the position, you will ensure compliance with NCAA, GNAC, and University of Alaska Fairbanks policies while promoting the personal, academic, and athletic growth of student-athletes.

Successful candidates will possess strong coaching, recruiting, communication, and leadership skills, along with a commitment to student-athlete success. The ability to build positive relationships, support the Head Coach's vision, uphold NCAA compliance standards, and contribute to a culture of excellence both on and off the court is essential

B. S. Degree.

* NCAA Coaches Certification to recruit off campus.

Position Details:

This is a full-time, term-funded, 11-month, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79, based on education and experience.

A valid Alaska Driver's License and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria.
