Graduate Research Assistants; Grad RA's​/International Arctic Research Center; IARC

The International Arctic Research Center (IARC) recruits graduate students for research assistantship positions throughout the academic year. These temporary appointments are per‑semester and offer hands‑on experience in a dynamic and collaborative research environment. IARC may hire from this pool during the year; duties vary by department. Applicants are reviewed on an as‑needed basis by various departments throughout the year.

To thrive in this role, applicants should demonstrate strong communication skills and attention to detail. Graduate research candidates should have relevant experience, a proactive approach to problem‑solving, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team, meeting deadlines and contributing to shared goals. Success also requires adaptability, willingness to learn new skills, and a commitment to high performance.

An interest in curriculum or research design and support is valued. Candidates should have a foundational understanding of learning, research, or creative processes.

• Awarded Bachelor's degree and pursuing a graduate degree at UAF.
• Awarded a Master’s Degree and pursuing a PhD degree at UAF.

This position is located on the University of Fairbanks campus in Fairbanks. Flexible on‑site work arrangements may be considered as the research assignment(s) permit. This is a part‑time, term‑funded exempt student position, union represented (AGWA/UAW). New hires will be placed on the graduate student pay schedule accordingly (pursuing a Masters or a PhD degree). This is a pooled position and will remain open over the academic year 2026‑2027.
