The College of Business and Security Management Dean's Office is seeking an organized, friendly, and motivated Student Advisor/Recruiting Coordinator who enjoys working as part of a team. This 12-month, full‑time, benefited position has regular business hours Monday‑Friday 8:00 am‑5:00 pm with occasional weekends, evenings, and travel to college/career fairs required.
Responsibilities- Provide academic advising to undergraduate students in CBSM programs (Accounting, Applied Management, Business Administration, Economics, Homeland Security and Emergency Management).
- Conduct advising sessions in person, by phone, email, and Zoom.
- Co‑operate with other academic advisors to plan, coordinate, and implement recruiting and retention activities.
- Meet with students and parents during campus visits.
- Collaborate closely with the UAF Admissions office.
- Attend college and career fairs locally and outside Fairbanks, speak to incoming students at UAF events, and meet with students at local high schools.
- Make public presentations to campus visitors and interested student groups, either in‑person or virtually.
- Develop articulation agreements with other colleges nationwide for CBSM programs.
- Interpret, apply, and communicate UAF academic policies and procedures.
- Maintain high level of confidentiality and comply with FERPA.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience or training.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of students.
- Ability to work with faculty, staff, and students in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
- Experience in higher education preferred.
