The Office of the Bursar is the financial hub for UAF. We serve a diverse range of students, staff, faculty, agencies, and the public through a wide array of activities. The quality of service provided is often a key factor in shaping our students’ experience and the university's overall perception.
This student position offers the opportunity not only to welcome our new students but also to develop your customer service skills. Job duties are primarily clerical and include cash handling, customer service, and helping department managers with special projects as needed.
QualificationsThis position requires the following:
- Knowledge of how to use Word and Excel, Google Docs and Sheets, and the ability to search information on the internet.
- Attention to detail, working in an organized manner, following instructions, and working without close supervision.
- Ability to act professionally and maintain confidentiality and security of all information.
- Confidence in actively communicating with your team members and supervisor regarding your job duties.
- Teachability for how to conduct professional emails and phone calls.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Prefer (3) months or more of general office experience and cash handling.
UA Board of Regents' Policy P09.05.020 states that to be eligible for student employment, graduate and undergraduates must be enrolled in, and regularly attending, a minimum of six (6) credit hours in the current semester of employment or have been enrolled the preceding semester for six or more credit hours and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester for employment between semesters.
Applicants must possess a 2.0 or better cumulative grade point average (GPA).
This recruitment is open to undergraduate students only.
Position DetailsThis is a part-time, non-exempt (hourly) student temporary position, up to 20 hours per week, while school is in session. Additional hours may be available during the summer and winter breaks. Starting hourly rate is $16.50/hr.
