Lead Teacher For Bunnell House Early Childhood Lab School

Are you passionate about supporting young learners during their most formative years? UAF Community & Technical College is seeking a dedicated Lead Teacher for the Bunnell House Early Childhood Lab School to join our dynamic Learning Lab team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and wants to make a meaningful impact in both early childhood education and the development of future educators.

As a Lead Teacher, you'll work closely with our team to plan and implement hands-on, developmentally appropriate curriculum across areas like art, science, motor skills, and early literacy. You'll take primary responsibility for a group of children, oversee their care and growth, and support individualized assessments and goal-setting. The role also includes mentoring college students in the Early Childhood program, building strong partnerships with families, and ensuring the learning environment meets all health, safety, and licensing standards.

We're looking for someone with solid experience in early childhood education, leadership skills, and a genuine passion for fostering a nurturing space. Qualified candidates will meet one of the following: a BA in Early Childhood Education with at least six months of formal experience, a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 18 credits in Early Childhood Education and six months of experience, an AA in Child Development with at least one year of experience, or two years of college or vocational coursework along with a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential and one year of experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschoolers.

Infant, child, and adult First Aid and CPR certification is required.

This position is located on the UAF campus in Fairbanks. Work is performed on-site. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage.

New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.

We review applications on a rolling basis. Because we may close the posting once a sufficient pool of qualified candidates is established, we encourage early submission.

To complete your application, please attach the following:

  • Resume
  • Cover letter detailing qualifications for this position
  • Unofficial transcript OR documentation demonstrating an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Copy of current infant/child/adult first aid and CPR certification
  • 3 professional employment references to include names, professional relationship, address and contact phone number.
