UA Museum of the North Education & Public Programs offers resources and opportunities for teachers, students, families, community members and visitors of all ages and backgrounds to learn from and be inspired by museum collections and related research. We are seeking a student intern to join our team and work with our teaching collection to process incoming and outgoing loans for teachers.
Main duties include reviewing kit materials, cataloging objects, creating database entries, processing loans, and conducting research for labels and kits. Additional duties may include assisting with field trip programs, museum family days, and special events.
This position requires strong attention to detail. Past experience working with databases, filing, or data entry is preferred. Knowledge of Alaska natural and cultural history is desired. An interest or background in education or interpretation is desired.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicant should be enrolled as a UA student in a minimum of 6 credits with a minimum GPA of 2.0, or a newly enrolled student.
Position Details:
This position is located on the UAF campus in Fairbanks. This is a part-time, student position with pay starting at $15.57 per hour.
