Kitchen Aide

The duties performed by a kitchen aide are broad and flexible. Assists the kitchen manager to ensure that a quality, nutritious, cost effective meal program is available daily to students and staff.

New hire starting hourly rate:
Grade 3: $17.59 - $19.59 DOE Internal hourly rate:
Determined by the ESSA Negotiated Agreement

Work hours:

5 hours per day. Start times vary depending on individual school sites, but most positions work between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Work year: 9 months Bargaining unit:

Job qualifications/requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Mathematical skills including basic calculations. Basic knowledge of computer and keyboarding skills to include Microsoft Office and Google Suite products, as well as basic troubleshooting. Ability to work with detailed information/data and maintain strict confidentiality of written and oral information and records. Per DEC regulations, must have or be able to pass Food Handlers course 30 days after hire and maintain the card.
