Kindergarten Aide

The Kindergarten aide provides assistants to the kindergarten classroom teachers in supporting students' day-to-day functions to ensure a smooth transition of students to the educational environment. New Hire Starting Hourly Rate:
Grade 5: $20.13 - $22.51 DOE Internal Hourly Rate:
Determined by the ESSA Negotiated Agreement Work Day: 7 hours per day Work Year: 9 months Bargaining Unit:
Education Support Staff Association (ESSA)

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Must meet one of the three qualifications:
• a. High school diploma, or equivalent, and have either completed or the ability to complete the Para Professional Assessment within four (4) months of hire; or
• b. Associate's degree or higher; or
• c. Completion of two years of higher education (at least 48 semester hours) or the equivalent.
• Work experience demonstrating an ability to maintain accurate records and implement plans
• Proven proficiency in oral and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to relate and work successfully with students and adults and ability to work as a team in developing and delivering academic programs for students.
• Demonstrated ability to be patient with young children and their developmental needs.
