Job DescriptionWe are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. This position offers the opportunity to lead industrial design projects within the chemical, power, utilities, and manufacturing sectors. As a key contributor, you will be responsible for designing and retrofitting industrial power distribution systems and substations, while conducting complex electrical studies. The ideal candidate will have exceptional technical expertise, strong communication skills, and a passion for innovation in electrical engineering.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers on various industrial design projects.
- Design and retrofitting of industrial power distribution systems and substations.
- Create comprehensive electrical system designs which include master plans, protection and generation models, and renewable energy systems.
- Conduct power system studies and perform electrical calculations for lighting, communications, fire alarm, and security systems.
- Conduct site assessments to update design requirements based on field conditions.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations as well as internal policies.
- Develop technical documentation and white papers for both internal knowledge sharing and external publication.
- Collaborate with sales teams to create proposals in response to RFPs.
- Engage with clients to comprehend their design needs and offer technical guidance.
- Represent the firm at industry conferences and events to enhance visibility.
- Provide detailed engineering estimates while managing project budgets and timelines.
- Supervise and evaluate the work of junior engineers.
- Support the FEL and FEED delivery processes along with design-build methodologies.
- Contribute to the firm's Technical Knowledge Management initiatives.
- Assist with obtaining necessary multi-state licensing.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related discipline.
- Professional engineering (PE) license.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience. The role may involve domestic and/or international travel.
- Equivalent additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Demonstrated experience in leading industrial electrical engineering teams.
- Knowledge of FEL and FEED delivery processes.
- Familiarity with progressive design-build and design-build delivery methods.
- Capability to obtain multi-state licensing.
- Experience in designing medium and low-voltage power systems for water, wastewater, federal, and transit facilities.
