The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Northern Region Design, Engineering & Construction, is looking for an Engineering Assistant 3

to help us Keep Alaska Moving!

What you will be doing:

In this position, you will provide utility coordination for transportation, aviation and facility projects, provide technical guidance to regional staff, and support engineering and design efforts related to utility infrastructure as needed. You will compose technical documents relating to utility relocation agreement, utility invoicing, and project closeout. You will assist with administering utility permits for facilities located within DOT&PF Northern Region rights-of-way and controlled properties.

Responsibilities include reviewing permit applications for compliance with state and federal requirements, coordinating with DOT&PF sections and utility companies, issuing permits, assessing fees, and maintaining utility records and tracking systems that support project design, construction, and maintenance activities.
