Job DescriptionThe Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Northern Region Design, Engineer & Construction, is looking for an Engineering Assistant 3 / Engineering Associate / Engineer/Architect 1 to help us keep Alaska moving.
Engineering Assistant 3: $44.49 Hourly/OT Eligible
Engineering Associate: $44.49 Hourly/OT Eligible
Engineer/Architect 1: $47.51 Hourly/OT Eligible
What You Will Be DoingThis position works on a diverse Project Delivery Team to deliver important transportation projects for local communities and statewide transportation networks, with the opportunity to work on projects from Valdez to Prudhoe Bay, and everything in between. This individual will work as a lead designer in developing projects from simple concepts to bid‑ready plans and specifications. They will coordinate with support resources such as geotechnical engineers, hydraulic engineers, environmental staff, right‑of‑way and utility specialists, and many others to ensure a complete and quality product.

The Working Environment You Can ExpectThis position will work from the DOT&PF complex in Fairbanks, which houses all of Northern Region’s design, construction, maintenance and support staff between multiple buildings within walking distance along Peger Road. The daily work environment is highly collaborative.
