Fish Habitat Consultants

We are currently recruiting for two Essential Fish Habitat (EFH) Consultants to support the Great Atlantic Regional Fisheries Office (GARFO) by providing assistance in the technical and environmental review, including Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) actions under the OCS Lands Act of 1953 and the Energy Policy Act of 2005, including lease sales and site development for offshore wind energy;
Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE) and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) actions. The technical and environmental reviews are conducted under the authority of the NEPA as well as the Essential Fish Habitat provisions of the Magnuson‑Stevens Act. These reviews will then form the basis for NMFS recommendations to the federal action agencies on how best to avoid, minimize or compensate for impacts to fishery resources and their habitats.

If awarded the work, this will be a full-time position. The contract has a one-year base period with a potential of three option periods.
