Responsibilities
The Northern Region Design and Engineering Services division of Alaska's Department of Transportation and Public Facilities seeks a Technical Engineer 1/Architect 1 to manage traffic safety systems and programs for the region. The role involves overseeing the Highway Safety Improvement Program and Safety Management System, providing technical support on traffic engineering matters, and offering professional testimony on traffic-related legal cases. This is a full-time position based in Fairbanks, AK, open to Alaska residents only.
Qualifications- Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Architect registration required
- Two years of professional engineering or architectural experience as Engineer 1 or equivalent
- Knowledge of engineering concepts and traffic safety systems
- Strong decision-making and ethical conduct
- Valid Alaska driver's license required
