Worship & Connections Pastor: Shepherding with Musical Skill

Bethel Baptist Church in Fairbanks, Alaska is searching for an Associate Pastor of Worship and Connections — a pastor who leads with both a shepherd’s heart and a musician’s skill.

• A pastor first, musician second
  :
  Someone who sees worship leading as one expression of shepherding, not the other way around. This role is genuinely 50/50, and the church needs someone who’s comfortable in both lanes.
• Theologically grounded with a careful approach to worship content
  :
  Reformed-leaning but not rigidly so, deeply comfortable with modern hymnody (Gettys, City Alight, etc.), and aligned with the church’s thoughtful avoidance of New Apostolic Reformation-adjacent material.
• Administratively capable
  :
  Able to organize rotating volunteer teams, run Planning Center confidently, coordinate with tech and production teams, and oversee a connections ministry without getting so artsy they can’t keep it organized.
• Built for Alaska

  Realistic about the challenges of life in Alaska (long winters, distance, and higher living costs) but inspired by the opportunity to live among resilient people, experience world‑class natural beauty, and serve in a place where strong community and meaningful ministry truly matter.
