We are seeking a detail‑oriented individual to contribute to our commitment to campus safety and wellbeing. Through our robust intervention and prevention programming, ORCA strives to foster a positive and safe environment for our university community.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough fact‑finding investigations and support accountability processes that lead to meaningful change.
- Evaluate compliance with University policies, procedures, and programs on discrimination, discriminatory harassment, sexual misconduct, retaliation, employee conduct, and ethics.
- Examine reports using a trauma‑informed approach, acting as a neutral third party throughout all aspects of the investigative process.
- Maintain well‑documented, prompt, and fair handling of reports.
- Work closely with students, faculty, staff, Human Resources, Department of Residence Life, Office of Research Integrity, and other campus stakeholders as needed.
- Communicate findings clearly in written and verbal formats and maintain detailed records with minimal supervision.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent training with at least two years of investigatory experience.
Preference will be given to individuals who hold a J.D. with evidence of fact‑gathering experience requiring interviews.
- Exceptional critical thinking, judgment, and ability to apply legal and policy standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication; prioritization and time‑management skills in high‑stakes projects.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
- Conflict resolution, problem‑solving, interviewing, and investigative expertise.
- Ability to conduct investigations with a trauma‑informed approach and cultural competence.
- Impartiality, sound judgment in emotionally charged situations, and discretion with sensitive information.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently or as part of a busy team.
- Willingness to travel and work evenings or weekends as needed.
- Full‑time, term‑funded, exempt staff position.

- New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79, based on education and experience.
