What you will be doing:

In this position you will be providing ongoing case management and community supervision of offenders who participate in the Fairbanks Therapeutic Courts. You will perform the initial intake/risk assessment upon initial opt-in to the therapeutic court program. You will meet with offenders/participants regularly to monitor, process, and track compliance with court-ordered requirements, conduct routine field visits, curfew checks, and alcohol and drug screenings.

Participates in court hearings and prepare written reports for all status hearings.

Additionally, you will serve as a liaison between the Therapeutic Court participant and professionals in the justice system and local social service agencies. Work with the Therapeutic Courts in ensuring the Therapeutic Courts' continued adherence to the National Drug Court Institute (NDCI) standards.

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college in any field AND one year of entry level professional experience in probation, parole, criminal justice, juvenile justice, social services, corrections, criminal investigation, public safety or law enforcement, mental health, substance abuse treatment, rehabilitation, or case management. Substitution:
Four years in any combination of post secondary education from an accredited college and/or paraprofessional experience in probation, parole, criminal justice, juvenile justice, social services, corrections, criminal investigation, public safety or law enforcement, mental health, substance abuse treatment, rehabilitation, case management, or similar work experience will substitute for the required degree. Special note:
For both levels, a criminal record check will be performed at the time of hire to identify any convictions for felony or misdemeanor crimes; and the applicant must meet the requirements for Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN) access as defined by the Alaska Department of Public Safety.
