What You Will Be Doing

Provide high‑quality personal care to assisted living home residents in a warm, supportive, and caring manner. Following the resident’s Assisted Living Plan, this position assists residents with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transportation into and out of bed, wheelchairs, bathtubs, lifts, and using walkers and canes. The role also involves program development that promotes physical well‑being and relationships through meaningful person‑to‑person social interaction with residents, family, friends, and staff.

Working Environment

Fairbanks Pioneer Home, 2221 Eagan Ave, Fairbanks, Alaska. Nestled on 16 acres of birch and spruce trees, conveniently located next to the local senior center.

  • Pioneer Home is an Eden Alternative facility with contact with plants, flowers, and pets.
  • Employees undergo continual screening for tuberculosis, criminal history, and COVID‑19 as required.
  • Qualifications
    • Assist Living Aide

      Minimum Qualifications:

      Physically capable of standing, walking, lifting, bending, and pushing.
    • Certified Nurse Aide I

      Minimum Qualifications:

      Eligibility for certification to practice as a Certified Nurse Aide in Alaska.
    Special Notes
    • Some positions may require background investigation and fingerprinting.
    • Some positions may require proof of active pulmonary tuberculosis clearance; annual testing is required.
    • Some positions may require operation of state vehicles and an Alaska driver’s license.
