Certified Computer Technician

Requirements

• Must have:
  Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a Vocational Training Diploma in Information Technology
• Over 3 years of experience in a LAN/WAN setting
• Required certifications: DELL and A+ CompTIA
• Practical understanding of hardware/software applications and network protocols
• Experience in IT troubleshooting and computer repair
• Customer service experience in a technical role
• Capability to train individuals or groups
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

• Provide technical support and assistance to staff and community members
• Troubleshoot network issues and individual hardware/software problems
• Assist in the installation and configuration of applications and DELL hardware
• Support the setup of LAN/WAN hardware as directed by the Technical Support Manager or Systems Administrator
• Manage network user access and services
• Facilitate training sessions for staff on network updates and software enhancements
• Travel to remote locations as required by district needs
• Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge base
• Keep support records and asset inventory updated in the helpdesk system
• Stay current with operating systems, hardware, and applications
• Relay issues and solutions to the technology team
• Prioritize tasks with or without guidance from management
• Engage in cross‑training initiatives within the technology department
• Comply with all company policies and procedures
