Job Description

ATTENTION ALL ALASKA RESIDENTS! The Data Modernization and Innovation Office (DMIO) is seeking a Program Coordinator 2 to join our dynamic team to help us Keep Alaska Moving!

Depending on the selected applicant, this position can be filled in Juneau, Fairbanks, or Anchorage. Salary information is listed below:

Juneau: $3,275.25 / Biweekly

Fairbanks: $3,213.00 / Biweekly

Anchorage: $3,119.25 / Biweekly

What you will be doing:

  • The incumbent will lead Alaska's statewide Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) and Technical Training (T2) program, developing and implementing strategic training plans, budgets, work plans, and program initiatives that strengthen Alaska's transportation workforce and local transportation agencies.
  • Identify training and professional development needs and oversee the delivery of innovative, cost-effective technical training through LTAP, T2, National Highway Institute (NHI), FHWA, and other state and national training resources, using a variety of in-person, virtual, and other learning approaches.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with local governments, Tribes, DOT&PF staff, consultants, contractors, FHWA, professional organizations, and transportation industry experts to expand access to training, technical assistance, and emerging transportation technologies.
  • Lead the team's program operations, including federal grant administration, contracts, training requests, customer outreach, reporting, evaluation, and management of the statewide training and technical assistance resources.
  • Represent DOT&PF in statewide and national transportation training and technology-transfer activities, while evaluating emerging technologies, industry trends, and customer feedback to continuously improve training and advance innovative practices throughout Alaska's transportation industry.
