Position Overview

As the FASAP Manager you will manage the day-to-day operations of the Fairbanks Alcohol Safety Action Program (FASAP) including program planning and development, personnel management, assist with or perform budgeting and procurement of funds management. The incumbent must work well under pressure, meeting multiple and conflicting deadlines, and demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues, supervisor, and consumers (clients). Direct interaction with the courts, clients, and other service organizations.

Job Duties
  • Manage the FASAP program, monitoring and maintaining program requirements and ensuring all project compliance is conducted and program goals and objectives are met.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for FASAP and provide coordination between the service components.
  • Serve as liaison between courts, the community’s alcohol treatment and health care agencies, Department of Motor Vehicles and District Attorney. Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Responsible for awareness of community resources and agency networking.
  • Provide case management/file documentation in accordance with established standards, and submits reports (required for MIS reporting, client billing, etc.) and other data in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Confer with attorneys, judges, and other appropriate parties in compiling clients' social and criminal history.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of local alcohol/substance misuse and driving laws, work well with law enforcement agencies, judges, and alcohol/substance misuse treatment facilities, and have demonstrated customer service skill. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Minimally, the successful candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in a related field and familiarity with the judicial system and laws related to alcohol or drug offenses, as well as one (1) year of program/project management experience in a social service setting. A combination of experience, education, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may substitute for degree requirements.
