About Golden Valley Electric AssociationGVEA is an electric cooperative that maintains 3,292 miles of transmission and distribution lines, 40 substations, and 9 generating facilities. YourRole as the Healy Maintenance Manager
As the Healy Maintenance Manager at Golden Valley Electric Association, you will oversee the overall operation of the Maintenance department, including environmental compliance, plant performance, culture, personnel, and regulatory, technical, and technology‑related functions. This role is essential in instilling a strong safety‑first culture while maintaining a rigorous maintenance program that aligns with operational needs and ensures the reliable operation of the Healy Power Plants.
Requirementsfor this Healy Maintenance Manager Job
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of ten years of maintenance experience in an industrial coal‑fired plant or related field.
- At least four years of management experience in a power plant setting with proven budget management.
- Strong supervisory, leadership, and project management skills.
- Experience in labor contract administration and contractor management.
Successful candidates will be able to leverage their technical expertise and leadership abilities to drive operational excellence and ensure the smooth functioning of our maintenance department in Healy, Alaska.
Knowledge and Skills Required- Demonstrated supervisor, leadership and project management experience.
- Proficiency in labor contract administration.
- Proficiency in contractor management.
- Experience with budgetary responsibilities in a power plant environment.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in a coal‑fired power plant.
