Compensation & PerksHourly Rate: $65–$75 per hour (commensurate with experience).

Job SummaryThe Mechanical Commissioning Technician is responsible for testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting mechanical systems and equipment in industrial settings. The role requires assembly, alignment, calibration, and functional testing of heavy machinery, conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and other mechanical components. The technician works with engineers, contractors, and other technical teams to complete commissioning processes on schedule and to quality standards.
Essential Duties- Assemble, align, and commission mechanical systems and equipment (e.g., pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, cranes).
- Perform pre‑commissioning checks to verify correct installation and adherence to manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct thorough testing to ensure systems operate efficiently, safely, and according to project specifications.
- Perform alignment, calibration, and balancing of equipment as required.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues during installation, testing, and commissioning, implementing effective solutions.
- Review and interpret mechanical schematics, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate system setup.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to verify performance and resolve discrepancies.
- Perform startup and functional tests to meet performance criteria.
- Document commissioning activities, test results, and any discrepancies or changes.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including lockout/tagout procedures.
- Work with electrical and control systems teams for seamless integration.
- Provide training and support to operators and personnel.
- Monitor system performance and adjust to ensure long‑term reliability and efficiency.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical commissioning or related fields.
- Experience working as a site automation engineer.
- North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience in dynamic commissioning, testing, or maintaining industrial systems in the Arctic oil and gas sector.
