Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Nurse Anesthetist CRNA (Night-Shift)

Make your move to Alaska! Experience the midnight sun in the summer, a front‑row seat to the northern lights in the winter, and the opportunity to advance your career as you broaden your scope of practice.

Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, a subsidiary of Foundation Health Partners, is searching for a full‑time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our highly experienced Anesthesia team.

Opportunity

Fairbanks Memorial Hospital (FMH) is seeking a CRNA to join our team as a nocturnist, providing in‑house anesthesia coverage during the hours of 7PM‑7AM. This position offers a two‑week on, two‑week off schedule, allowing you to enjoy Alaska’s unique experiences such as hiking, fishing, hunting, skiing, snowmobiling, and northern lights viewing. You’ll manage a bread‑and‑butter caseload that includes OB, emergency cases, and urgent GI procedures.

Our small OB program sees about 900 deliveries annually, with approximately 40% of patients receiving epidurals, which contributes to the low case volume in the evening. While high‑acuity cases are less frequent, the work remains dynamic and engaging, keeping your skills sharp as part of a rural health system without the constant intensity of a trauma‑heavy environment. Work alongside a supportive team of anesthesiologists who share call responsibilities, ensuring backup is always available when needed.

This role is ideal for CRNAs who appreciate the predictability of a structured schedule, the slower rhythm of night shifts, and the benefit of extended time off. The in‑house model means no home call, giving you peace of mind and the ability to fully disconnect during your off weeks.

  • Compensation:
Salary DOE between $315K-$378K, $40K sign‑on bonus, $15K annual retention, $5K performance incentive, $5K CME allowance
  • Patients: OB, emergency cases, and urgent GI procedures during overnight shifts. No craniotomies or hearts.
  • Team: 5 full‑time anesthesiologists and ultimately 12 CRNAs.
  • Schedule Options: 1‑week on/1‑week off or 2‑week on/2‑week off schedule.
