Position: Nurse 2 On-Call (PCN 06N09045)

Overview

The mission of the Division of Alaska Pioneer Homes is to provide elder Alaskans a home and community, celebrating life through its final breath. This position is open to Alaska residents only.

Responsibilities

Provide high quality clinical care for up to 91 assisted‑living home residents, administer medications, and support care teams. Focus on quality resident care, the growth, development, and empowerment of staff, and promotion of assisted‑living philosophy and statutes.

Qualifications
  • Medicine and dentistry knowledge – diagnosis and treatment of injuries, diseases and deformities, including preventive health‑care measures.
  • Evidence‑based practice – integrate best research practices with clinical expertise and patient values.
  • Flexibility – open to change, adapt rapidly to new information and unexpected obstacles.
  • Interpersonal skills – empathy, cultural sensitivity, handling difficult situations, and maintaining effective relationships.
  • Eligibility to practice as a Registered Nurse in Alaska; either a current RN license, completion of a formal training plan as Nurse 1, or one year of entry‑level RN experience.
  • Other Requirements

    Background investigation, tuberculosis testing, and proof of CPR/First Aid as applicable. Selections may include requirement to provide professional references and character references.
