Job Opportunity – Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse – Alaska

Schedule: 3x12 variable shifts with weekend coverage required; 60 guaranteed hours per two-week period; floating within scope may be required to meet facility needs

- Work in a Level IV Trauma, Critical Access Hospital with 46 acute care beds and a 22-bed long-term care facility
- Manageable patient volume with approximately 10 deliveries per month in a 4-bed unit

Requirements:
- Current RN license (Compact license accepted; must be active at time of submission)
- Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (local candidates not accepted)
- Strong competency in core L&D skills including fetal monitoring, postpartum care, newborn assessment, couplet care, vaginal delivery assistance, cesarean section support, epidural management, Pitocin administration, and maternal-newborn patient education
- Ability to commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years

Additional Information:
- Housing is provided in typically 1-bedroom apartments; available for move-in no earlier than 72 hours before contract start
- Pets are not permitted in facility-provided housing
- Time-off requests must be submitted upfront during application process; requests are based upon availability
- May be required to float to sister facilities within the healthcare system
- Pre-start and orientation modules required (non-billable time)
