This position leads the analytical program in Region III, providing technical support—statistical analysis, geographic information systems, and survey/inventory design—to regional research and management. Duties include supervising technical staff, representing the region on statewide technical working groups, managing the analytical program budget, and overseeing program operations.
Working ConditionsThe position is based at the Department of Fish and Game office at Creamer’s Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge, Fairbanks. Field work may involve remote wildlife studies conducted via small aircraft, helicopters, boats, or ATVs in interior and eastern Alaska. Exposure to insects, inclement weather and wildlife may occur.
- Field work includes exposure to animals, insects, inclement weather, low level flying, boat or ATV travel, and contact with drugs or chemicals.
- Occasional travel within the state and internationally for meetings and field work.
