Overview
The Institute of Arctic Biology (IAB) is seeking candidates for temporary positions to support the areas of biology, genetics, wildlife, biomedical, ecology, physiology, bioinformatics, and related areas of study to support the research and academic missions of the Institute.
Major research programs at IAB include the Center for Alaska Native Health Research, Alaska Basic Neuroscience Program, Center for Molecular and Genetic Studies of Hibernation, Alaska Geobotany Center, Resilience and Adaptation Program, and the Bonanza Creek Long‑Term Ecological Research program. IAB also administers the Alaska Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit, a nationwide cooperative program, and operates the Toolik Field Station.
ResponsibilitiesProvide support in scientific laboratory and/or field site techniques in biology, genetics, wildlife, biomedical, ecology, physiology, bioinformatics, or related areas as required by the specific position. Perform equipment/instrument training, lab safety procedures, Haz Mat handling, shipping, and computer software tasks as needed.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Training in scientific laboratory and/or field site techniques in biology, genetics, wildlife, biomedical, ecology, physiology, bioinformatics, or related areas.
- Additional training in equipment/instrument use, lab safety, Haz Mat handling, shipping, computer software, or other areas as required.

Required Documentation- May require travel to remote locations; ability to travel, heavy lifting, and other field requirements as required.
