The Institute of Arctic Biology is looking for enthusiastic seasonal research technicians to join our team. You will collect valuable field data for the Bonanza Creek Long Term Ecological Research Program (BNZ LTER) and work in the beautiful Arctic environment.
Responsibilities• Work in rugged, backcountry terrain and collect high‑quality ecological data.
• Follow detailed instructions, work independently and as part of a team.
• Maintain physical fitness to handle long days in various weather conditions.
• Operate and maintain equipment necessary for data collection and field logistics.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria.
• Background in biology, ecology, forestry, or a related field, or relevant field experience.
• Basic spreadsheet software skills.
• Prior fieldwork experience, especially in boreal or remote settings.
• Experience with camping and logistics in backcountry environments.

UA Fairbanks campus, LTER Bonanza Creek – on‑site and field work.
• Type:
Temporary, full‑time seasonal position.
• Pay: UA Temporary Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 75, based on education and experience.
