Security Officer Position
This is for the Tanana Valley State Fair. Jul 31 - Aug 9, 2026.
Benefits- $24.00 hourly rate of pay while working as a seasonal unarmed officer.
We are a drug free workplace.
Responsibilities- Act as a visual deterrent to prevent theft, embezzlement, sabotage, fire, and accidents
- Conduct regular patrols
- Monitor activities
- Surveillance
- Access Control
- Safety escorts
- Using provided communication devices
- Represent SSNW's brand
- Properly wear the issued uniform
- Complete Daily Activity Reports (DAR)
- Work with local law enforcement, and emergency services.
- Provide friendly assistance to customers, employees and visitors following the department's procedures.
- Other duties as described in the Post Orders
- Current Alaska State Unarmed Security Guard License
- EMT Background a huge plus
- Smart phone to access the apps we use for scheduling, clocking in/out, and reporting
- Availability to work day shifts, swing shifts, graveyard shifts and weekends
- Reliable transportation
- Honesty and Integrity
- Able to work non-traditional hours including swings, graveyard, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to react appropriately in high stress situations
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 2+ years as an unarmed security officer
- Knowledge of security protocols, and equipment
- Must be able to conduct regular walking foot patrols
- Able to stand 8-12 hours a day
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times (occasionally)
