This is a remote/ rotational position, in Prudhoe Bay, AK. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.

Job PurposeProvides technical direction and leadership to work crew and performs structural/pipe welding of metal components for fabrication or repair of machine parts, plant equipment and structures according to layout, blueprints or work orders using brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment as well as performs welding of pipe, flanges and various fittings for fabrication or repair of machine parts, plant equipment and structures according to layout, blueprints or work orders using various welding processes.
The position is located on the North Slope and requires a rotational work schedule. Relocation assistance to Alaska is not provided; however, transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided. Room and meals are provided while in Prudhoe Bay.

- Serves as single point of contact for work crew and coordinates maintenance activities with other crafts.
- Records and/or reports daily labor hours to timekeeper.
- Monitors expenditures.
- Lays out, fits, and welds fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms, such as machinery frames, tanks, pressure vessels, furnace shells, building and bridge parts, according to blueprints, specifications and knowledge of welding and metallurgy.
- Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining weld shrinkage, and welding techniques.
- Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together. Bolts, clamps, and tack‑welds parts to secure in position for welding. Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions. Examines weld for bead size and other specifications. Cleans or degreases weld joint or work piece.
- Constructs, maintains, and modifies piping systems and process equipment related to petrochemical or other industry by welding of pipe, flanges and various fittings using applicable welding techniques and processes required to produces welds that meet applicable codes and client requirements.
- Measures pipe routing and draft pipe configuration.
- Perform repair, prep, grinding and re‑weld procedures on pipe to meet proper welding codes.
- Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas‑shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment.
- Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using cutting torch, straightening press, and hand tools.
- Completes records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean‑up and housekeeping activities.
- Routinely performs safety and productivity observations; shop, field, and vehicle inspections; and is required to attend various components of technical, developmental, and safety training.
- Knowledge of the AWS, ANSI and ASME codes.
- Knowledge of operation of welding equipment, beveling machines, electrodes, fluxes, shielding gasses and welding processes.
- Knowledge of the various size and grades of welding electrodes, the proper use of electrodes and welding processes, the appearance of a proper fit‑up and the appearance of properly cleaned and prepared surface.
