Traffic Control and Electronic Systems, Maintenance Specialist; PCN

ATTENTION ALL ALASKA RESIDENTS!

Want to put your certificate of fitness license to work in a specialized, hands‑on field? You’ll maintain traffic signals and highway lighting systems most electricians don’t get the chance to work on. This is steady, year‑round work with paid leave, retirement, and being home most nights. Rare occasions may call for longer nights, stepping up during major storms or critical outages when your skills are needed most.

• Troubleshoot and repair traffic signals and roadway lighting
• Work inside signal cabinets, controllers, and power systems
• Diagnose electrical faults using meters, testers, and standard electrical tools
• Repair or replace wiring, fixtures, poles, and damaged equipment
• Operate lifts and work safely at heights
• Program and adjust traffic signal timing systems (training provided)
• Respond to storm damage and critical outages when needed

This position is located in Fairbanks, Alaska.

This position is based out of the Fairbanks Northern Region hub, working alongside experienced maintenance crews from districts across Northern Alaska. Most days, you’ll head out to job sites around the Fairbanks area with a dedicated team focused on keeping Alaska’s roadways safe and moving.

• State of Alaska Journeyman Electrician License
• Alaska Certification of Fitness with First Aid & CPR Card
• Commercial Driver’s License, Class B with air brakes endorsement
