Job SummaryThe Roustabout performs manual and semi‑skilled labor to support facility operations, maintenance, and construction activities. Working under experienced personnel, the role develops knowledge of oilfield operations and equipment while assisting with field and shop tasks.
Essential Duties- Demonstrate and promote safe work practices at all times.
- Perform shop, field, vehicle, and equipment inspections.
- Complete assigned tasks with limited supervision in a productive and efficient manner.
- Operate heavy equipment, including front‑end loaders and skid steers, as qualified.
- Safely use hand, electric, hydraulic, and pneumatic tools.
- Perform manual labor activities including hauling, stacking, shoveling, lifting, and general construction support.
- Learn valve specifications, installation procedures, and gasket identification and selection.
- Learn and utilize Aveva/IP.21 process control software as required.
- Assist with Well Support, Hot Water Plant, Field Services, and other operational activities as needed.
- Develop a basic understanding of oilfield facility operations, production equipment, and operating procedures.
- Work in confined spaces as required and in accordance with company procedures.
- Participate in daily toolbox meetings and weekly safety meetings.
- Comply with all company and customer policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Support AES's zero‑incident safety culture and assume personal accountability for safe work practices in all activities and operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum one (1) year of related labor, construction, industrial, maintenance, or oilfield experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to work in Arctic conditions and perform physically demanding work.
- Ability and willingness to learn basic oilfield operations and production facility processes.
Physical activities such as hauling, lifting, and heavy lifting are core components of this position. A functional capacity evaluation will be conducted post‑offer to confirm the ability to safely perform required duties. Work Environment- Must meet ASRC Energy driving records and motor vehicle use policies.
- Must pass a pre‑employment drug test, including urine and hair testing.
- Must meet the physical requirements of working in a remote location under Arctic conditions.
- Required to take and pass a Fit‑For‑Duty exam.
- Required to complete and successfully pass a background check.
- Must obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location.
- The availability of the position is contingent upon the company’s continued operational needs after training is completed.
