Information about the location you'll be working at:

Here in Fairbanks, we are building a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility with spacious bays, great lighting, and up-to-date technology. You will have all you need in your workspace. Our equipment shop will be located right next door, and a coffee shop is nearby for quick coffee cravings.

Job Overview:

Reporting directly to the Service Manager, this full‑time Truck Technician supports the service team and is responsible for large truck maintenance and repairs.

Duties:

  • Inspect and pre‑deliver new equipment.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and estimate repair of used equipment.
  • Maintain rental fleet for repair and cleanliness.
  • Occasionally travel to customer locations to repair equipment.
  • Use computers to look up parts, research service practices, prepare estimates and generate service reports.
  • Perform transmission and differential, U‑joint/drivetrain work.
  • Work on brakes and axles; basic understanding of air systems.
  • Electrical, system and troubleshooting.
  • Chassis and suspension maintenance.
  • Type detailed stories on repairs performed.
  • Perform DOT inspections.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills for Success:

  • High school diploma or GED (preferred).
  • 1–3 years experience working with large trucks and/or heavy equipment or formal mechanical training.
  • Troubleshooting skills in engine and vehicle systems.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent communication and time‑management skills.

Requirements:

  • Able to work 40+ hours per week.
  • Able to operate tools associated with equipment repair.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

Team members must be able to lift at least 30 pounds on a regular basis, stand for long periods, and bend, lift, and push as required.

Safety:

All team members are responsible for maintaining a safe work environment by following safety policies and standards, completing onboarding safety requirements, and attending monthly safety training.
